The Upcountry History Museum is seeking a dynamic and proven development professional to serve as Development Director, a new staff position. The Development Director will serve as a community liaison, spokesperson and the principal fundraiser for the UpcountryHistory Museum which serves the South Carolina Upcountry region comprised of fifteen counties. Three years experience in development with a record of success, public speaking skills and degree are required. Some evening and weekend work.
- Plan and administer a program to increase annual contributed income from individuals, corporations, foundations and government. Maintain current donation levels and secure new funding.
- Cultivate and contact donors to expand donor base, support and involvement. Oversee donor acknowledgements.
-Heighten community awareness of the museum by developing meaningful relationships with foundations, civic groups, community leaders, corporations and government officials.
- Work with the Board to develop an engaged, effective and energized Board. Assist in recruiting new Board candidates to create a balanced and actively involved team.
- Prepare and present development reports for Board meetings and committee meetings as required.
- Work with Managing Director and Board of Trustees to develop fundraising goals and special events.
- Assist staff with marketing of programs and events.
