Take a break from the heat at the Upcountry History Museum! Enjoy classic films and documentaries throughout the summer in our very own theater. Films begin at 2:00 pm. All Monday Matinee Movies are FREE to members and FREE with regular admission to all other guests. Drinks and snacks will be for sale at each movie. See you at the pictures!

Amelia Earhart Revisits Greenville Downtown Airport – June 18
Did you know that Amelia Earhart visited Greenville in 1931, flew demonstration flights at the Greenville Downtown Airport and spoke at a Poinsett Hotel luncheon? Greenville Chautauqua, the Greenville Downtown Airport and the Upcountry History Museum recreate that historic day, Friday, November 13, 1931 right where she landed – at our Downtown Airport.
- 9 am – Mark Twain Chautauqua/ Upcountry History Museum discussion moved to Runway Café so you don’t have to miss any of the fun.
- 10 am – Runway Café’s hangar will have historical displays of Greenville in the 1930’s. Sponsored by the Upcountry History Museum and the Greenville Historical Society.
- 11 am – Weather permitting “Amelia Earhart” will land at the Greenville Downtown Airport in a 1929 Golden Eagle Chief (One of only two known to be still flying in the world). Sponsored by Triple Tree Aerodrome. Regardless of the weather “Amelia” will greet and mingle within the crowd.
- 11:45 am – Weather permitting “Amelia Earhart” will be whisked away, in a rare vintage era automobile. Sponsored by Maserati Lotus Greenville, to the Poinsett Hotel, where the fun will continue at a ticketed luncheon. Call for info: 864-244-1499
