Homeschool Day – War Dogs
January 23, 2026 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

War Dogs: K9 Military Heroes
From the American Revolutionary War to World War I trenches to modern combat zones, children will learn the history and evolution of military working dogs (MWDs). These four-legged soldiers are trained for tasks such as detection, tracking, and protection, combining real-world relevance and heroism.
These wooden, life-size sculptures, designed by Ohio master craftsman James Mellick, bring attention to the history, service, and heroism of “man’s best friend.” Military working dogs have served and protected countless lives in war; this inspiring exhibition tells their amazing story.
