An Evening with Dr. Courtney Tollison Hartness

 Enjoy a special evening with Dr. Courtney Tollison Hartness as she shares stories from her recently published book, “Our Country First, Then Greenville” A New South City During the Progressive Era and World War I.

Join us Thursday, May 9, for drinks and light hors d’oeuvres as local author, public historian, and Furman University history professor, Dr. Tollison Hartness discusses Greenville’s home-front experience of race relations, dramatic population growth, the women’s suffrage movement, and the contributions of African Americans and women to Greenville’s history.

The evening will explore this earlier period in time and the moment that catalyzed Greenville’s development into a modern city, setting the stage for continued growth that persists into the present-day.

 

Each ticket reservation includes two, complimentary drinks tickets.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 6:00 p.m.

$20 for UHM Members | $25 for all other guests

 

 

 

Reservations are required to attend this program. Dr. Tollison’s book will be available for purchase from the Museum’s Gift Shop.
